Read Twice, frog once...

Well, in case I hadn't mentioned, which I doubt... my computer is finally back in my grubby mits! DH supposedly tried to tell me at the 11th hour while messin' with it he just wants to save me the 60 bucks for the Computer Place to check it over... $400 later!!!! They told him what it needed and he thinks he has to get more memory, a new video card, blah blah blah! And this is not upselling on the part of the service tech either! You tell him the car needs a new headlight and he's buying new tires to go with! Ugh... oh well, back to finding all my old "favorites" and hopefully posting pics and such... Yeah!!!
I found out my error from my previous post about the Gelato bag... one of my "knitty pals" on KH posted a question, to which I responded after reviewing the pattern... A fresh glance of the pattern told me that I should have begun counting 48 rows from CAST ON not from the last row of increases. Sooooo, no wonder I ran out of yarn because I knitted about 20 rows too many! So, granted I have to frog half a handle, one full handle and 20 rows, but oh well!
I have so many UFO's and PreUFO's in bags and boxes in my house it's insane! But I love them all, for their potential alone I am excited!!! I recently made up the Girl's Night Out little bag from Tilli Thomas silk yarn with sequins (B to wind I may add, but love the rich colors!) "Rock Star" it's called. Have to sew the seams, but I hope to post that one soon....
Later all, thanks for stoppin' by the box!

Long time no blog...

Hey there anyone out there...
Been spending most of my online time at KH and not here. I haven't tended to my blog because I am still depending on dh's computer for such things. I can't print, I can't edit pics... sigh. I finally called a place in town to take my computer to so it can get a shampoo and set. DH tried to tell me, "All I need to do..." blah blah blah and I nicely reminded him he has had 9 months and a deadline finally of the end of May, which passed. Glad I wasn't bleeding or something. Granted, radically different circumstances, but still. I am sick and tired of small things like this being brushed under the rug!
I have so many project's OTNs that I never get anything done. However, I have almost completed a "Gelato Purse" in Cascade 22o in apple green with matching mohair carried along with it. I ran out of the Cascae with half a strap and the 12 stitch flap left to complete. The pattern called for just one skein, and I seriously doubt my guage is off that much! I only need a few more yards to finish! I posted to KH for anyone possible having any rems they wannat sell/swap as well as the store I got it from (it's in Mpls which is 215 miles from here). I could just buy another skein and use it and the 80% rem ball #2 of mohair I have to make a matching small bag for inside the purse...but I don't feel like it.
I also have had the nagging reminder that I picked up some donated yarn from my local humane society late last summer to make some kennel blankets. Not that the stash was primo (a lot of crochet cotton in it /?/) but I don't want them to think I absconded with their yarn. Since my computer has been down, if they've tried to email me (how I got in touch initially), they wouldn't be able to get through. I have been busy all winter doing other projects such as baby blankets for a new nephew, santa hat and scarf for my other nephew who turned 1 on Christmas Day...yada yada, excuses excuses. I have also acquired a small pile of baby related projects. I have an interest in making a christening gown, some sweaters, a fun fuzzy bunting, a Blue Sky Alpaca's shirt dress...what's up with that. Even if I did get P, what with the gender specific clothes? whatever...
So, here's to updating my blog, and hopefully getting pictures on this crazy space...
Later all...

So, today I went to one of my LYS' "Knitty Gritty Cafe" to see if they had the SWTCo pattern (free with purchase) for wristlets in Karaoke... bummer, they didn't. But I figure it's a fairly basic pattern so I'll check knittingpatterncentral.com for a similar one. I told the gal working tonight about that site and while I was browsing, she had already gone online and was printing some pattern. Cool! Shoulda told her about KH (see link to the right). I almost brought home 5 skeins of Ironstone Harmony in red, I want to make a Bliss cat bed. But, decided not to. Instead, I got 3 skeins of Artyarns Regal Silk (shhh, don't tell DH) Yum!
Basically the only thing I knitted while at my bro & sil's this past weekend was a chunky scarf out of Lion's Big and a Ribs and Ruffles from Misti Alpaca.
This is the best I can do so far... I'm using DH's computer and it doesn't have a photo editor so I can post pics of my latest stash enhancement, ufo's and fo's. sigh.... that's a whole 'nuther story I'm tired of telling... beh!

So, I am trying to get the knittinghelp.com link button to work... but alas, I'm new and blog/computer challenged. So, if anyone tries to link to KH and gets and error... the "tech dept" is aware of the issue, a ticket has been opened, and there is no ETA as of yet.
blast
